Pali Institute, Running Springs, CA

Pali Institute, located in the San Bernardino Mountains of California, is a place where students come to find passion for the outdoors. Our highly-trained instructors come from all over the world. They teach grades 4-12 in small groups over the course of a three, four, or five-day program, selecting from class modules in the fields of Outdoor Education, Science and Leadership. We are proud to be one of only a few outdoor education programs accredited by the Association for Experiential Education and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Something that sets Pali apart is our focus on social growth and the way it is facilitated; we grow together and support each other, and that helps the whole team feel empowered to show their passion and bring their best for themselves, each other, and our students. Regular team building is an important part of what we do.

Our innovative curriculum is a whole lot of fun! Our professional outdoor staff guides our students through the thrills of seeing, touching and learning about the world around them. We introduce students to numerous scientific disciplines through rocket launches, squid dissection, weather experiments and crime scene investigation! And our facilities are beautiful. Pali sits on 274 acres in the San Bernardino National Forest and is home to 5 challenge courses, 3 zip lines, 5 archery ranges, basketball courts, a recreation field and over 5 miles of hiking trails.

Students engage with enthusiasm and exit from Pali with knowledge retained to take their study of science to the next level; staff emerge with strong leadership skills and friends for life.

Take it from our staff:

The people hired here are nothing short of fun, good spirited, passionate, and talented. The work is fun and I gained so much experience teaching in a classroom and outdoor setting. I am so grateful for the support I received from the admin staff about personal goals and teaching advice. The location in the San Bernardino mountains is beautiful and housing is included. Every weekend was an adventure either surfing, climbing, camping, mountain biking, or hanging out at a staff house – there was always something fun to do.
