Hike Inn, Chattahoochee National Forest, GA

Welcome to Hike Inn, Georgia’s only backcountry lodge!

We are currently accepting resumes for our 2024 Spring Season.  We will be hiring for head cooks, cooks and housekeeping positions.

The Hike Inn is a unique facility of Georgia State Park, nestled in the mountains of Chattahoochee National Forest. We’re just five miles above Amicalola Falls State Park. Our mission: Make experiencing nature easy, and help protect it through education and outdoor recreation.

Hike Inn offers twenty private guest rooms, hot showers, fresh linens and home-cooked meals. It serves as a wilderness retreat and learning resource center. A visit to the Hike Inn inspires a love for hiking, nature and environmental stewardship.

One of our most popular stops on our nightly tour of the Hike Inn is our worm beds, and vermiculture is one of our most valuable teaching tools.

Both experienced Appalachian Trail “thru-hikers” and families seeking a weekend getaway stay at the Hike Inn. The Inn sits in secluded and peaceful location in the mountains, just a few hours north of Atlanta. Springer Mountain, the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, is a 4.4-mile hike (8.8 miles round trip) from the Hike Inn.

The Hike Inn Outside School program hosts school and youth groups for overnight educational trips. While hiking, Students learn about the history of the Appalachian Trail and ecological processes of the Southern Appalachian forests. Back at the Inn, the students participate with hands on learning of green building and sustainability practices (including our infamous zero food waste tradition!).

We are looking for employees with good interpersonal skills and a commitment to our sustainable (and fun!) way of life.

Take it from our staff:

I love the fact that adventure is right out my door. The staff was very welcoming and the included amenities make living here very comfortable. Also, I absolutely love meeting like minded adventurers every single day as they hike the beautiful Chattahoochee national forest.
