The Emerald Cove Outdoor Science (ECOS) Institute provides 3, 4, and 5-day residential outdoor education programs for 5th and 6th-grade students from throughout Southern California.
Come join a team of outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate about passing on a love of learning and an appreciation for the outdoors to the next generation.
An ECOS Institute Instructor plays the essential dual role of Naturalist and Counselor, guiding students through a science curriculum based in geology, wildlife biology, forest ecology and astronomy. Instructors also serve as primary support for a cabin of 10-15 campers to encourage their social growth and help them develop independence. In addition to our science curriculum, a typical day at ECOS includes hikes to beautiful vistas, team building activities, skits, dances, songs, and all other things “camp”!
